A Mixtape is a musical collection often used Hip Hop that gives creatives a platform to own the beat. To make a Mixtape is to take an instrumental off a song from another producer that resonates with you then write your own lyrics, record and release it at no cost to your audience. The final album collection is known as a “Mixtape.”

The MixTape Project presents opportunity for personal growth on an artistic, cultural and educational level for both the participants and the audience. Hip Hop is a genre grounded in a culture of expression that fosters the use of little to make great impact.
